frequently asked questions
What is Husky Laboratory?
That’s us! You can find out more about us from the About Us page.
What is Husky Chat?
Check out Husky Chat in action on the Husky Chat page here. And download!
Uh… why do you guys need access to my browsing activity?
When you are installing Husky Chat, Chrome will ask you to confirm giving certain access to Husky Chat – this is what they mean:
Husky Chat absolutely does not access, log, or record any data on the websites you visit! In order for Husky Chat to function properly, we need to access what is called a webpage’s Document Object Model, or DOM. By accessing the page’s DOM, we are then able to overlay the chat window on the webpages. As a side effect of being granted this access is the permission to see the data on the websites you are viewing – but again, we are not, and will not be, accessing users’ data in any way.
Why do I have to log-in?
Like many other sites, we find that by asking people to use social logins to authenticate themselves, the content itself become more valuable and rich.
Hmm… I just installed it and it’s not working on the page that I already have open..?
For now, you’re going to need to refresh your existing pages to get Husky Chat to work – we’re working on resolving this issue so Husky Chat will be able to work on all websites, stay tuned!
Does this work for all browsers?
Husky Chat is Chrome for now. We are hard at work creating support for other browsers. Stay tuned!
Do other people need to install Husky Chat also to chat with me?
Yep – so get sharing! Get your friends on Husky Chat!
How can I provide feedback?
